Under the supervision of the Chief Financial Officer, the Accounting & Office Administrator supports all the internal accounting and office processes of the company.

Essential Functions:

  1. Manage daily administrative operations.
  2. Standardize and document office procedures and recommend revisions.
  3. Assign duties and supervise the work of the administrative staff.
  4. Assist with human resource tasks and duties as needed.
  5. Create and maintain client records within firm’s practice management system.
  6. Assists Billing Supervisor with preparation of client invoices.
  7. Assists with accounts payable and credit card payments to vendors.
  8. Maintains confidentiality of client and firm matters.
  9. Cultivate a positive work environment and culture

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or similar field.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in administrative management, preferably within a professional services firm.

Tax Manager

Essential Functions:

  • This is a management level tax position.
  • You will be responsible for utilizing your years of experience and educational background as well as communication and organizational skills by interfacing with clients on a daily basis, preparing complex tax returns and reviewing tax returns, reviewing and performing tax research, and working with firm Partners on client tax matters.

QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong analytical and tax technical skills and an attention to detail. Able to identify, research, and implement tax planning and tax savings strategies.
  • A self-starter, able to perform work with supervision from Tax Partners.
  • Familiarity with standard tax practices and procedures and the ability to apply them to each project assigned. Extensive knowledge of Partnership, S Corporation and HIGH Net Worth Individual tax laws as a requirement of the position with Trust, Gift and Estate and C Corporation tax experience a “plus”.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to manage and develop a team.
  • Seeks advice of appropriate superiors regarding issues or problems relating to compliance and consulting.
  • Overtime hours required during tax seasons.
  • Templeton currently requires 3 to 4 days in-office hybrid work environment.
  • A positive and willing attitude is absolutely essential.

Training and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s in Accounting required, Master’s in Taxation or LLM a plus, minimum of 5 to 9 years public accounting experience (Big 4 and / or Regional Accounting firm experience a plus). CPA is required for a manager position at Templeton.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite environment is required. Experience with tax technology similar to CCH WK, ProSystem Tax, Engagement, Fixed Asset software – are all required.
  • C-Corp, Partnership, S-Corp, Individual tax preparation and review experience is a requirement of the position.
  • ASC 740, ASC 740-10 is a plus.
  • Multi-state experience is a requirement.
  • Exceptional client relationship skills essential.
  • Effective writing, communication, and tax research skills necessary, experience with tax technology a must.
  • Experience managing 2 to 4 tax staff at one time (Staff and Senior associates) a must.

We are currently looking for an Audit Manager to join our team.  The Audit Manager is responsible for leading or participating in audit engagements. Oversees the execution of audit engagements, trains staff and assesses audit quality.

  • Ensures that audit activities comply with Audit Department standards
    • Accomplishes audit activities within stipulated schedules
    • Oversee audit activities in the areas of assigned audit responsibility, generally involving tasks of great variety applied to activities of high complexity and exposure
    • Participate in the development of Audit Department standards, policies, and practices.
    • Supervise, direct, train, mentor, and evaluate staff,
  • and in developing a strong team effort among staff members
  • Maintain effective and professional relationships with senior client management

QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES:

  • Working knowledge of Internal Revenue Code

    • Ability to utilize resources available to complete assigned projects.
    • Knowledgeable in the use of computers to document and record audit findings.
    • Familiarity with overall company operations and an ability to understand correlations between internal operating departments.

Training and Experience

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting, minimum of 7 years public accounting experience as an audit professional and is a licensed CPA.

Experience with software programs such as Microsoft Office Suite. Proficiency in ProSystem fx Tax, Engagement, and Fixed Assets a plus.

OPPORTUNITY:

We’re seeking Senior Auditors to join our West Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale audit teams. The Senior Auditor is responsible for leading or participating in audit engagements.  Under minimal supervision, performs all audit assignments and tasks in the areas of audit responsibility.   The nature of this position requires inside contact with company employees at all levels as well as contact with outside client representatives, vendors, and other business-related representatives.

Essential Functions:

  • Ensures performance of independent and objective evaluations of the adequacy, effectiveness and efficiency of internal controls, disclosure controls, and operating systems in areas of audit responsibility.
  • Performs or participates in complex functional audit processes that consist of audit assessment of risk and exposure associates with activities in the area of audit responsibility: the planning, design, performance, documentation, supervision, and review of audit work; the reporting of the results of audit work; and the monitoring and verification of auditee management’s resolution of audit findings.

Staff Auditor

OPPORTUNITY:
We’re seeking team players with a strong work ethic and excellent professional skills for the role of Staff Auditor in our Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach offices.

Essential Functions:

  • Performs detailed audit procedures on financial statement account balances, prepares and adjusts workpapers from clients’ trial balance
  • Identifies potential management letter comments
  • Researches accounting issues
  • Recognizes potential problem areas in specific engagements and discusses them with engagement supervisor
  • Participates in the engagement planning process
  • Performs other accounting, auditing, and consulting duties as needed in engagements and as assigned by supervisory personnel
  • Assumes full responsibility (under supervision) for preparation of compiled and reviewed financial statements
  • Assists with more complicated segments of audit and accounting engagements
  • Drafts annual financial statements, including footnote disclosures
  • Becomes proficient at preparing financial statements using the firm’s software programs
  • May train other staff auditors

QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting; 3.5 or higher GPA in major preferred; advanced degree preferred
  • One to three years audit experience in the commercial, non-profit sectors or benefit plan audit experience a plus; public accounting experience preferred
  • Well-rounded knowledge of accounting principles; knowledge of Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS), Government Auditing Standards (GAS Yellow Book) and Generally Accepted Governmental Accounting Standards (GAGAS) a plus
  • Proficiency in use of computers and computer accounting software programs
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Either holds a current and valid certified public accountant’s license or is working toward obtaining the license by taking and passing the applicable state CPA exam
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Some travel may be required
